Citroen confirmed the 2004 manufacturer WRC Champions since the first stage of leg 3 of this Tour de Corse. In the end Loeb was 2nd and Solberg 5th, Loeb had a 30 points advantage with 2 events remaining. This was a long and well deserved title. A year ago Loeb lost the title by one single point and it could be said luck wasn’t entirely on his side in that case, as on Corsica a year ago nobody could beat Pirelli tyres and in GB Loeb had team orders as the manufacturer title had priority for Citroen.
