Bautista, a defender el liderato en Donington: todos los horarios

Este fin de semana se celebra el Prosecco DOC UK Round, la octava cita del WorldSBK que se disputará en el Circuito de Donington Park, donde Álvaro Bautista deberá defender el liderato.

La ronda de Donington es la octava de una temporada programada a 12 fechas, lo que supone que se cumplirá el segundo tercio del curso, momento en el que Álvaro Bautista, dominador absoluto de la general desde el arranque del año, llega con una diferencia más vulnerable ante la reacción del cuatro veces campeón Jonathan Rea (Kawsaki).

En Misano (22 y 23 de junio), Rea se impuso en las dos carreras largas, sumando 50 puntos, más los 5 que consiguió con el quinto puesto en la Superpole Race. Por el contrario, Bautista ganó la carrera corta, pero en las dos mangas largas sumó un tercer puesto y una caída, la segunda del curso, marchándose con 30 puntos y viendo adelgazar su ventaja al frente del campeonato hasta los 16 puntos.

Por tanto, en Donington este fin de semana Rea tiene una oportunidad real de poder dar caza en la general al español de Ducati, de igual modo que Álvaro puede sumar y seguir liderando el campeonato, pero ahora con la presión de saber que cualquier error puede pagarlo caro.

El pasado año en Donington se llevó las dos victorias Michael Van der Mark, el piloto de Yamaha que se lesionó en Misano de gravedad y causa baja este fin de semana. Rea logró dos podios, un segundo y un tercer puesto. Tom Sykes y Toprak Razgatlioglu completaron los restantes puestos del cajón.

Bautista, que debuta este año en WorldSBK, hace mucho que no corre en esta pista, que desapareció del calendario MotoGP dejando paso a Silverstone en 2009, por lo que deberá adaptarse rápido al circuito y a las condiciones climáticas cambiantes habituales en el Reino Unido.

El fin de semana del WolrdSBK coincide, por primera vez este año, con el Gran Premio de MotoGP, que se celebra en Alemania.
