Los pilotos y coches de las 500 Millas de Indianápolis 2019

De esos 36, 35 fueron confirmados en primer lugar, quedando solo uno por anunciar, en el que esperábamos que estuviera el español Oriol Servià. En el primer test de la edición 103 de la Indy500, Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports puso en pista a Servià en su coche #77, y finalmente el catalán, que ya ha disputado diez veces esta mítica carrera, una de ellas con ese equipo, fue confirmado.

La lista de inscritos está dividida en 18 coches con Honda y 18 con Chevrolet (uno de ellos el de McLaren y Fernando Alonso).

Los siete pilotos entre los inscritos que ya han ganado las 500 Millas de Indianápolis son: Helio Castroneves (tres veces ganador), Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Alexander Rossi, Takuma Sato y Will Power.

Por su parte, siete son los debutantes en esta prueba: Marcus Ericsson, Santino Ferrucci, Colton Herta, Felix Rosenqvist, Patricio O'Ward, Ben Hanley y Jordan King.

La clasificación se disputa el sábado 18 de mayo y el domingo 19 de mayo. Treinta coches se ganarán un sitio para la parrilla de salida ese sábado, mientras que los nueve primeros y del 31 al 33 se decidirán el domingo con el Fast Nine Shootout (donde se juegan la pole los nueve más rápidos del sábado) y el Last Row Shootout, donde se clasifican los últimos.
